Heey you all

My first post here, i used to play wow with a mate of mine. Was quite fun game to play, but recently i haven't played much computer games at all.
Lately i heard a lot of good things about guildwars, and a lot of bad about wow. Guess there's a lot of people not liking wow (article)

I didn't really get into wow, do you guys think guild wars will be any different?

Best game i've ever played.

Streaming updates, exciting missions, no grind, great skills to choose from, new friends to make, ArenaNet (game creators) are always in-touch with the community....the list is endless.

Look out for the free summer update too!

There are always good and bad for each game. I'll say give GW a try. It's well worth the money. With no monthly fees you can play casually, and I agree with Tactical. ANet is always in touch with the community.

Great game, especially for someone switching over from WoW. There is a little grind to the game, but someone who has played WoW won't find that very annoying.

I'll say this right now. If you intend to pve solely, you will be bored out of your mind in a couple months. If you like pvp, this will be well worth your money.

I played WoW and Guild Wars. IMO I think WoW is more fun, but Guild Wars is still a great game. No monthly fees, fun quests, exciting gameply, and everything else you can find in a MMORPG.

That is true. Of course imho that doesn't detract from the game at all. The PvE is solid and the PvP is amazing. Its well worth the money for either aspect of the game, and you get both in one w/o any monthly fee.

Well, boredom in a couple of months is better than most single-player games most people can finish a normal single player game in 20-80 hours (depending on the game and their game playing style). Whereas with GW it's easy to clock up 200+ hours of playing and still have plenty to do in the game. and we all know maths .. 200 > 80 and thus worth the money IMO even if you don't plan on PvP'ing.

My advice is if your considering buying GW and have the time and a decent net connection.. try d/l'ing all the GW movies you can find as well as looking at player screenshots. A lot of the movies are "dance" movies, but there are a fair few PvE & PvP movies around that will show you the gameplay in action.. the movies and screenshots are a fairly good way of deciding if the game looks appealing or not.

For me, it's definately been worth the money I spent on it. It gets patched quite frequently, there is a new free summer PvE update comming soon as well. No monthly fee's.. and you *can* play the game quite successfully if your a casual gamer..

Unlike what people might say.. you don't need that uber max damage gold sward of pwnage.... LOL You don't need the top gear to succeed. Just play through the game and use what you find as well as what you can afford as you play. Simple as that and it works.

Lol, that article is pretty funny, I showed it to a few of my friends who wouldn't shut up about how WoW is sooo much better than GW, that article did it.
